Tacoma Narrows Bridge March 1, 2011

This is an incredible collage of footage taken shortly before the collapse of the Tacoma Narrows Bridge in Tacoma, WA. The periodic frequency of the wind blowing through the strait matched the natural resonant frequency of the construction materials, causing its untimely end. Luckily no humans were harmed, as the bridge allowed ample time for evacuation before it finally fell:
